Day Camp Units Are Assigned

Is your daughter ready for some fun on Monday?  Camp units were assigned and you should have received an email regarding that yesterday.  Please see more detailed information about camp below:

First Day Registration
Registration will be at 8:30am on the first day of camp. Please have your two medical forms and the Permission to Release form (if applicable) ready to turn in at registration.  All medications must be checked-in at the First Aid station.  Find your camper’s unit number (there will be people with lists if you did not receive the email containing this information) and proceed directly to the unit to turn in paperwork and sign-in for camp.

Dressing for Fun
Your daughter is likely to be active at camp; hiking and playing games.  To prevent injuries we ask that pants, shorts, or capris cover the knees. Please don’t wear skirts or dresses.  No open-toed shoes please.  Weather can range from foggy and cool in the morning to hot in the afternoon, so a sweatshirt or a light jacket is recommended. It’s advisable for each camper to bring a hat with a brim and sunscreen. (Please apply sunscreen before camp).

Every child will receive a camp t-shirt. They will have the opportunity to decorate it early in the week. After decoration, T-shirts will need to be heat set with an iron in order to be washable.  Campers should wear their decorated t-shirt to camp every day.

What to Bring
Girls will be provided with a snack each day.  Lunch on Friday is also provided by the camp kitchen.  Girls will need to bring their lunch Monday -Thursday of camp. Each girl is also encouraged to bring a refillable water bottle.  Water will be available to refill bottles.

It’s a camp tradition to exchange S.W.A.P.S. on Friday afternoon.  Ask your unit’s program aide for ideas or click on SWAPS located in the sidebar.  Younger scouts typically make enough only for their unit, while the oldest girls make enough for the whole camp.

Please park in the field before the road to get to Buckeye.  The parking lot is very small and unable to accomodate pick-up and drop-off traffic.

Please sign your camper in and out on the attendance sheet everyday.  No camper will be released to anyone not listed on the registration paperwork.  If you need to make alternate arrangements, please use the Permission to Release form.   Please drop-off your camper after 8:45am as there is no supervision before that time.

Forms, Forms, Forms
There are two mandatory forms for camp and one as needed form.  The two forms you will need to complete before dropping off your camper are the Health History and the Medication Permission Forms.  Both are kept in the first aid station with the camp nurse.  The medication permission form allows the nurse to administer over the counter medication at camp.  Camper supplied prescription medication should also be listed. Some examples of over the counter medications you might consider listing include: sunscreen, bug repellent, Pepto Bismol, Neosporin, Hydrocortizone, Calamine Lotion, Ibuprofen, Acetinophen, and Benadryl.  If you need to release your camper to anyone other than the adults listed on the registration form, you will need to fill out the Permission to Release Form.  These are kept with the unit.

Carpool Anyone?

Please put your name in the comments box if you are interested in carpooling to and from camp next week.  If there are certain days/times for drop-off or pick-up that you cannot help, please specify in the comment box.  Parents can meet in the Community Center Parking lot to load car seats and kids.  If you choose to carpool, please be on time to prevent others in the carpool from being late.
